Candle Care
How to nurture your candle. Because wood-wicks are a natural material, they require a few simple steps to ensure a stable and beautiful flame. We have gathered these tips to help you enjoy your candle to the very end.
1. Preparation Before Lighting
-
Trim the wick: Always keep the wick trimmed to 4–6mm. If the wick is too long, the flame may become unstable; if it is too short, it may struggle to stay lit.
-
Expose the wick: If the wick is too short to light, gently scrape away a small amount of the surrounding wax or soak up some of the melted wax with a paper towel to reveal more of the wood.
2. Burning Rules
-
Melt to the edge: Each time you light your candle, allow the wax to melt completely across the surface to the edge of the vessel. This prevents "tunneling" (the center sinking) and ensures the wax stays level until the end.
-
Burning time: As a guide, please limit each burn to within 4 hours.
-
When to replace: When the remaining wax reaches about 1.2cm, it is time to transition to a new candle.
3. Storage and Safety
-
Location: Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration or warping.
-
Safety first: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always place it on a flat, heat-resistant surface, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Enjoy a quiet moment accompanied by the gentle, campfire-like crackle of the wood-wick.
